As controversy continues around the Iowa Caucus results, Bernie Sanders is declaring victory, pointing out to reporters a small detail that he has the most votes in the state.

Some reporters have run with Pete Buttigieg’s declaring victory as fact, while others have focused on the lack of clarity on what’s really happening, with an eye toward New Hampshire. Sanders, though, thinks people should focus on how he has the most votes, even if it seems arbitrary.

“Some may not care about this part of it, but I have the most votes,” Sanders said to reporters in New Hampshire, who seemed perplexed as to why that matters. “I think this metric should be considered in declaring me the winner.”

Pundits responded that it is still unclear who won, adding that we should probably just move on.
