As filmmakers begin to rethink the police influence on their movies, the ‘RoboCop’ series has been digitally recut as just ‘Robo,’ a more wholesome version of the film.
In ‘Robo,’ Alex Murphy is shoe salesman instead of a cop, and spends much of his time at home watching TV. This plot leads to a far less violent movie and a runtime of just 24 minutes. The sequel – ‘Robo II: Married with Robo’ – is only 17 minutes.
The Hamster was able to watch the movie in advance. While better for the family, the laugh track can be distracting.
