Reports from recently reopened offices across the country have confirmed that office small talk has not improved, despite a year-long hiatus to do so.
Many conversations in office kitchenettes today centered on “Do anything fun this weekend?” or a more in-depth “how was your quarantine?” Many colleague made comments such as “good to be back, huh?” and “It’s so weird to be back, huh?” both of which were met with fake excitement, though all employees involved were really slowly dying on the inside.
Small talk later this week is expected to evolve into “any big plans this weekend?” so all are advised to have canned answers.
