In a telling exclusive interview with the Hamster, longtime internet celebrity Jeeves – of noted Ask Jeeves fame – said his biggest struggle with search engine stardom was the isolation he felt from those around him.

As his popularity grew, Jeeves noticed, too, a growing distance between him and all the people in his life.

“People had all kinds of questions, always,” Jeeves said. “But no one ever asked how I was doing.”

“I didn’t feel like I was connecting with anyone.”

Jeeves said he was almost relieved when the Ask Jeeves brand switched to just “Ask” in 2006, and he’s proud to say he’s 12 years sober. He’s since gone into private equity and has invested in several restaurant chains. More importantly, he says, is that he’s working to rebuild a relationship with his ex-wife and his now estranged kids.
