A local reporter got emotional in his office after learning he finally got a blue check mark on Twitter.
Phil Minder, the crime reporter and assistant sports editor at the Altoona Register Star Journal Bee, found out this morning when coming into work that his terrific reporting led him to being verified on Twitter. Minder immediately broke down, called his family and told them the big news.
“This is why you get up every morning,” Minder said, wiping away a tear. “This is why you go to j-school. This is why you put on that press hat. This is why you lift them weights.”
When asked how he’s going to approach his job now, Minder said no differently, other than adding he feels more confident now in his tweets and that they’re better than ours.
