A local software engineer is thrilled to finally get a few days off from pretending to work, especially at this busy time of year.

Dennis Johnstone, 31, has been exhausted finding things to do during the day to make it look like he’s working while he’s working from home. However, with a few days off for Thanksgiving, that obligation is out the window and he finally gets to relax.

“It’s our busy season,” Johnstone said. “I pretend to work until 6 some nights. It’s tough filling in the days with podcasts, TikToks, pooping. It’ll be good to take a few days off and catch up with my podcasts, watch some TikToks and get some pooping in.”

In our essential industry, journalism, the Hamster will not be taking time off from pretending to work.
