A reboot of the 1989 comedy ‘Honey I Shrunk the Kids’ is under fire, as outrage over the exploitation of shrunken people ensues.

Protests took place outside Walt Disney Studios in Burbank Thursday morning, as many are furious the movie plays on dated tropes about microscopic people. Humor about inchworm sized people hasn’t aged well, protesters argued.

“Microscopic people have long been marginalized,” shouted an unnamed protester into the Velvet Hamster’s tape recorder. “This is inherently a country that discriminates against the shrunken. Enough is enough. We need shrunken justice.”

Sources have told us producers are still weighing options, but are likely to kowtow under pressure.
