Fans of ‘Rick and Morty’ – already frustrated to see the show go on hiatus until sometime in 2020 – learned Tuesday that novelist George R.R. Martin will complete the second half of season 4.

Martin – who wrote some book series about dragons or something – said he doesn’t like the direction of season 4 so far, and the rest of it should probably run about 5 years at a minimum. Once that season concludes, he believes the rest of the series should be about 17 more seasons.

“I’ve written about 28,000 pages so far,” Martin said. “The first three and a half seasons of ‘Rick and Morty’ were not how I would have intended creatively, but we can remedy that over the next 20 seasons.”

It is unclear how Martin plans to end season 4, but he confirmed it’ll be completely different than how the show has run so far, hinting that Rick might be a cucumber for the remainder of the show.
