Tom Steyer has filled the spot on the Democratic 2020 Team left open by Eric Swalwell, who was optioned back to the minor leagues, according to a press release from the Democratic National Committee.
Benched for most of the season, Swalwell was hardly missed amongst those following the race, most of whom never noticed that he was there to begin with due to a lack of playing time.
Due to his experience as a billionaire, which would normally exclude him from a place on the roster, Steyer is bringing much-needed name recognition to the 24th position on the Democratic roster, which the party hopes will solidify it for the stretch run into the playoffs.
