Bakers across the country are pushing back against tweets telling them to “learn to a la mode,” a continuation of people constantly tweeting #FakePie.

In response, bakers have insisted that their work matters for a free and hungry democracy and that attacks on their work are dangerous. They’ve also urged dessert connoisseurs to buy subscriptions to their pies, regardless of their quality.

Many “learn to a la mode” tweets have been reported and deleted.
