A local accountant in a struggling firm has been traded to a more competitive firm at today’s trade deadline.

Logan Tarton, 31, will be a key asset as his new accounting firm makes a push for the playoffs. His previous employer is now looking to go younger, acquiring a pair of 22 year old recent undergrads to help rebuild the organization on a leaner budget. Though it’s bittersweet, all parties seem ready for the next chapter.

“It’s a business,” Tarton said. “I want to thank Miller & Co. CPAs and all the customers for their support over the years. It’s been a great seven years. My focus now is on helping my new team and coworkers win, and I’m excited for the opportunity to do accounting deep into October.”

The trade is expected to save Miller & Co. $65,000 this season.
