President Donald Trump’s latest briefing took an odd turn Wednesday, when he told reporters he was threatening to defund the Human Fund as a way to free up costs for emergency services.
Trump repeatedly railed against the fund, saying it served no real purpose.
“They say it’s ‘money for people,'” Trump said. “What people? Who are these people? I get these cards in the mail ‘a donation has been made in your name to the Human Fund.’ I didn’t want this. Who wants this? It’s terrible. It’s a disgrace.”
Trump ignored questions asking if this decision was insensitive to those who celebrate Festivus.
