As customers across the nation flock to their local 7-Elevens to take advantage of free Slurpee day, at least one libertarian customer is using the day to let employees and fellow customers know that there really is no such thing as a free Slurpee.

Bryan Worrell, 34, stopped into a suburban Kansas City 7-Eleven late morning not to purchase a Slurpee, but to lecture the cashiers and let all incoming customers know what they were participating in was a fallacy.

“You know that’s not really free, right?” Worrell said to a customer, as he paced back and forth in front of the Big Gulp machine. “This place is open 24 hours, yet no one who’s read Milton Friedman ever comes in?”

A manager finally asked Worrell if he planned to buy anything, to which he responded “paper is not money.” At that point, he was asked to leave.
