Florida is finally stepping up to protect its citizens, instituting a mask around chin mandate for all citizens over the age of 2.

The mandate applies to all indoor places starting this Friday and is intended to curb the rising COVID-19 cases. The state had resisted a mask mandate for some time, but Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis sees this as a good compromise.

“We are not going to force our citizens to do anything unreasonable,” DeSantis said. “But we also need to protect our state’s general well being. Keeping the mask around your chin will both keep Floridians safe and protect civil liberties.”

Reaction has been mixed so far, with many demanding they need to let their chins breathe.
