A local cult leader who predicted the end of the world in 2019 is demanding credit for being damn close.
Several members left Eugene Morter’s cult at the end of 2019 after “feeling duped” once the world didn’t end. He’s trying to get them back now, though, claiming he was really really close.
“It was rounding error,” Morter said on Reddit. “2019, 2020, 2027, the end is near. You need to walk away from your every day life, hand over your trust and bank account and come with us for the end times.”
The Hamster would like to clarify that it is not officially the end of the world yet, even if it feels like it.
