Attorney General William Barr was completely stumped Wednesday while testifying in front of the Senate Judiciary Committee after New Jersey Sen. Cory Booker asked him if he thought cereal was a soup.

Barr said afterwards he could handle most other questions, but the cereal/soup line of questioning threw him for a loop. The exchange was described as intense.

“I think this boils down to one important important question,” Booker said. “Do you think cereal is a soup? Do you see differences in the structure between golden grahams and cream of chicken wild rice?

“Huh?” a confused Barr responded.

“Is a hot dog a sandwich? Is a pop tart a ravioli?”

Booker took to Twitter after the hearing to express his frustration with Barr’s lack of answers.
