The baseball team formerly-known as the Cleveland Indians will now be known as the Cleveland Colonizers, the team announced Monday.

“This is about progress,” Indians Chairman Paul Dolan said in a statement. “We’ve heard everyone loud and clear. We needed a team name that better reflected our values, and didn’t disparage an entire group of people. We respect our indigenous fans, and to show that from here on out we’ll be known as the Colonizers.”

Sources inside the Colonizers organization said other considered names included the Redskins, the Natives and the Manifest Destinies.
