In a damper on today’s opening day festivities, a cardboard fan ran onto Citi Field disrupting the game between the Braves and the Mets before it was promptly arrested.
Police said the cardboard fan indeed had too much alcohol in its system. Its actions may cause MLB to reevaluate its policies on cardboard fans at games, as well as fake crowd noise, which clearly egged the cardboard fan on.
Security proceeded to warn cardboard fans not to throw objects – including other cardboard fans – on the field.
