A recent study has shown that, while parents wake up on Monday motivated to educate their quarantined children at home, the standards of what is considered “educational” slips a great deal by Friday afternoon.

“On a Monday morning, parents are quite particular in choosing educational materials,” said Dr. Albert Tenney of the Quarantine Education Research Initiative. “They are looking to the materials supplied by the school, visiting the Khan Academy, and possibly watching cultural material online.”

However, Tenney said, this changes throughout the week.

“Each morning is slightly better than the evening before, but there is a distinct downward trend throughout the week. By Friday afternoon, video games are taking the place of PE and parents are teaching fractions using mixology.”

Tenney suggested this is better preparation for real life than certain other lessons the Department of Education deem necessary.
