Unable to celebrate together as in years past, people around the country are sending cardboard cutouts of themselves to the Super Bowl parties they would otherwise be attending.

“The most important thing is safety,” said Super Bowl party host Matt Bishop of Chicago. “So, while some people have photos of themselves in the area of their favorite team, my friends have their photos on my couch, in the kitchen, and even in my bathroom.”

Bishop and other hosts around the country are hoping the cutouts leave at a reasonable time and don’t overstay their welcome.
