A New Orleans-based company is looking to hire new talent this summer, but is first reviewing carefully the cover letter of an applicant from Duke University.
Zion Williamson, 18, is applying for an open position at forward with the New Orleans Pelicans, a company in the local entertainment industry. Williamson was rumored to prefer open positions at companies based in New York and Los Angeles, but is content applying for what could be a promising job in New Orleans.
“I think they really liked my LinkedIn page,” Williamson said. “I think my credentials at other jobs – like NCAA athlete – speak for themselves.”
The Pelicans have not completely confirmed they will hire the young applicant, but it seems likely. They also may lay off or transfer an expensive employee they hired from the University of Kentucky seven years ago.
