After navigating a wave of criticism following Dave Chappelle’s comedy special “The Closer,” Netflix is pointing to Colin Kaepernick’s new comedy special “Colin in Black & White” as a sign it promotes all viewpoints.

“We like to give platforms to all viewpoints,” Netflix CEO Ted Sarandos said in a statement. “While we have heard criticism on Dave Chappelle’s comedy recently, we’d also like to point to another talented young comedian Colin Kaepernick and his new work, which is a masterclass in absurdism. We value both comedians equally.”

Kaepernick’s special has an audience score of 38% on Rotten Tomatoes.
