A local man has finally caved and given up on plans to go to the moon, selling his lone share of AMC for $6 that he originally bought at $9.
The man – who did not want to give his name out of embarrassment but goes by the Reddit username $MoonMan69420$ – was prepared to quit his day job after buying AMC stonks last week. He had hoped it would be sitting at least $1,000 a share by now. Instead, he cut his losses on his very first investment.
“I was ready for the moon,” he told us. “Now, I guess I won’t be eating dinner tonight.”
He is considering buying a whopping two shares of Nokia, though, if he gets over this devastating experience.
