Leaked: ‘Washington Jemimas’ to replace ‘Redskins’

Leaked new uniform designs show that Washington’s NFL team will soon be renamed the Jemimas, ending decades of controversy surrounding its name.

The franchise announced Sunday it was moving on from its now-former ‘Redskins’ name after hearing complaints from fans and sponsors. While it was not ready to publicly announce a new team name, the leaked name Washington Jemimas has been met with mostly positive response. Team owner Dan Snyder said the decision represents progress.

“We listened and made a change based off that,” Snyder told the Hamster Monday morning. “We wanted to go in a direction that represented the changing times, and a new era for our franchise.”

Runner up names included the Washington Rushmores, Wahoos and Land O’ Lakes.
