Thanks to the worst week for the stock market since the 2008 financial crisis, income inequality has been solved in the United States.

The wealthiest 1% in the country now own about 1% of the country’s wealth, a dramatic drop in a quick period of time. President Donald Trump took credit for the fix Friday.

“Not only have we protected nation against coronavirus, brought jobs back to America and kept the country safer than its ever been, but we have solved income inequality basically overnight,” Trump told reporters. “They said it couldn’t be done but look we did it. Tremendous results. You don’t see many in the media talking about it, but income inequality is gone. They want to talk about the impeachment hoax but they won’t give Trump any credit. It’s unbelievable, really. Disgraceful, quite honestly.”

Analysts say income inequality could return as soon as the stock market rebounds.
