The state of Illinois is finally moving to Phase 5 of its reopening plan of taxpayer wallets, Gov. J.B. Pritzker announced Friday.

Illinois has been slowly moving ahead with its reopening wallet plan for decades, and is excited to finally be in Phase 5 after years of hard work of taking people’s money.

“We believe we can safely reopen wallets entirely now,” Pritzker told reporters. “Starting with our ‘Fair Tax’ scheme, then letting local property taxes balloon, we think we are in a place to complete reopening of wallets. Or continue into future openings of wallets. Probably that.”

The governor said nothing could force the state to move backward in its reopening.
