Happy New Year!
We made it to 2021, which is full with the promise of not being 2020.
Verdict: We weren’t doomed in 2020, so I have high hopes for a lack of doom in 2021.
Check the Pulse
The Earth is pulsating every 26 seconds, and seismologists can’t agree on why.
Verdict: This doesn’t seem like the best news. It certainly does seem to signal impending doom.
Love for Georgie
4 year-old Georgie has been at St Jude’s Children’s Hospital since October 2019 fighting stage IV neuroblastoma. This past Christmas was expected to be his last, so he went home to West Virginia to spend it with his family. He had one big Christmas wish – a Jeep parade. Locals hoped to come up with a few Jeeps to make Georgie’s wish come true, but word got out in the Jeepster community, and more than 2,600 cars from around the country showed up for little Georgie.
Verdict: People drove across the country, giving their time, gas money, and love to brighten this child’s final Christmas. That’s the kind of love that will keep the doom far away.
My Favorite
Tom Selleck has always been my favorite, and his place just became a little more secure. He took part in an ongoing challenge to give servers generous tips to show them appreciation in a year that hasn’t been easy for the restaurant industry. A tip of $2,020 is sure to make a huge difference in the server’s life.
Verdict: Knowing you are appreciated, knowing you are seen, and having someone choose to help you are not small things. I always knew Tom Selleck stood between humanity and inevitable doom.
In the final analysis… We are heading into a new year with few things from 2020 mended and nothing but the unknown ahead. Still, that means that it’s a year full of possibility. We can do this.
